You have 47 launch tasks across marketing, inventory, partnerships, and operations, but they live in scattered Slack threads, email chains, and your head. This template creates one launch command center that tracks every deliverable, owner, and dependency across your 8-week product launch cycle. Not for solo founders launching their first product — built for ecommerce teams managing multi-channel launches with external partners.

What this template does

Replaces the chaos of launch planning spreadsheets, Slack reminders, and status update meetings with one database that tracks up to 60 launch deliverables across 5 functional areas. When you open it day one, you see a pre-loaded timeline of typical launch milestones from Week -8 to Week +2. After one week of use, the Overdue Tasks view automatically surfaces the 3 most critical blockers, and the Weekly Status view generates a stakeholder-ready report showing exactly what shipped, what’s delayed, and what needs executive attention.

Launch Tasks Database

Weekly Status Reports Page

Pre-formatted template for executive updates showing completed tasks, current blockers, and revised timeline. Copy-paste ready for investor updates or board decks.

How to use it week by week

  1. Monday of launch planning: Import your existing task list into Task Name field, assign every Owner from your team dropdown, set all Due Dates based on your launch target date
  2. Every Tuesday during launch cycle: Each Owner updates Status for their tasks during morning standup, adds any new Dependencies discovered, documents current blockers in Notes field
  3. Every Friday afternoon: Review Overdue Tasks view, escalate any Blocked items to executive team, copy Weekly Status Report page and update with this week’s completed/delayed items
  4. Two weeks before launch: Switch to Timeline view sorted by Due Date, identify critical path through Dependencies, move any non-essential tasks to post-launch weeks
  5. Launch week: Use Today filter to see only tasks due this week, check Dependencies view to ensure no surprise blockers, update stakeholder report with go/no-go decision items

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I handle dependencies between tasks when launch dates shift?

The Dependencies relation field automatically updates all linked tasks when you change a due date. If “Influencer contracts signed” moves from Week -4 to Week -3, all dependent tasks like “Influencer content review” get flagged in the Overdue Tasks view. Update dependent due dates manually — the template shows the cascade but doesn’t auto-reschedule to avoid breaking other launch deadlines.

What’s the difference between Blocked and Review needed status?

Set to Blocked when you’re waiting on an external dependency like vendor approval, legal review, or another team’s deliverable. Set to Review needed when your work is complete but needs internal sign-off. Blocked items appear in executive escalation reports; Review needed items appear in your manager’s weekly approval queue.

Can I track multiple product launches simultaneously?

Duplicate the entire template for each launch and rename the database. Don’t use one template for multiple launches — the Timeline view becomes unusable and Dependencies between different product launches create false critical paths. Each launch gets its own workspace section with this template structure.
